It is with the deepest sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Vicki Lynn Batie, age 53, who left us while sleeping peacefully Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born January 23, 1972 to Royal E. and Donna R. Hogan. Vicki married her love, Warren Batie, in 1995 and would tragically be widowed in 2015. Vicki spent every moment since losing her husband with an unwavering commitment to her family and friends, always putting others before herself.

Vicki was the embodiment of selflessness her whole life. She would give not only the shirt off her back, but, if she could, she would have given you her back too. She never hesitated to help others, offering a hand to anyone who needed it, no matter the sacrifice. Her heart was enormous, and her love, fierce. She was the kind of person who would never back down from hard work and her “tough love” approach was the backbone of her family’s strength. Though she had a way of keeping everyone on their toes, beneath it all, she had a heart of gold and a spirit of tenacity that couldn’t be broken.

As a mother, she fiercely protected her children pouring everything into raising them and ensuring they understood the value of hard work, kindness, and perseverance. She also loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, embracing them into her heart with open arms. She was their second mother, their rock, and advisor. Her legacy of love, fishing trips, good poker hands, and life advice to “figure it out” will live on. Vicki was a proud big sister and a dedicated caregiving daughter to her tough as nails mother, Rae, who raised to her to be the giver she was.

Vicki worked hard her entire life in many different jobs and enjoyed doing anything outside, work or play. She loved to make anything better than it was when she found it - A yard, a home, a temple, even the occasional auto repair. Vicki never backed down from a challenge to fix something, no matter what it was. Vicki’s happy place was at the Batie “All R’s” cabin where she continued to celebrate memories from the past and make those for the future with her family and vast circle of friends. Vicki was incredibly proud of organizing and running the annual July fishing tournament over the last decade. It will be an honor for us to continue that tradition in her memory.

Vicki is survived by her children, Aspen Rae Batie, Donald Jameson Batie, and bonus son, Dylan; Mother, Donna Rae Hogan; Sister, Tina Kakunes; In-Laws, Don & Sylvia Batie; Nancy (Justin), Dawna and Brian (Mindy). Vicki had a band of lifelong friends she referred to as brothers and sisters, to name one would negate another. Vicki touched countless lives giving her time, strength, and love. We find comfort in knowing that she lived a life true to dedication, selflessness, and endless love. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, her tough love, and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.

Her tiny heart needed a rest, it was clear that she fought to stay with us for as long as she could. Through her life, Vicki never let grief or hard times define her. She kept going because she knew that she was the glue holding so much and so many together. Vicki believed in doing whatever it took to help, even when it came at a personal cost

You can rest now Momma; you’ll forever be in our hearts.
