Vicki Morris Obituary
courageous battle against a rare cancer for over 20 years.
Vicki was born in Bremerton, WA to Hazel and Robert Osburn. She resided in Gig Harbor for 55 years until her husband, Jim, passed away in 2022. At that time, she moved down to Chehalis to be closer to her daughter and her family.
A long-time employee of the Gig Harbor School District, Vicki ended her career working at the Henderson Bay Alternative High School where staff and students alike were very fond of her caring and competent personality. She also earned the prestigious "Ellen Fay" award for excellence while working for Peninsula School District.
Vicki and Jim married in 1964 and lived in Tacoma. Soon after they married, Jim joined the Navy and they moved to Port Hueneme, CA where Jim was then sent to Vietnam. After his service in the war, they moved to Gig Harbor and put down roots.
Vicki enjoyed family camping trips and vacations along the Oregon coast.
Vicki is survived by her daughter Traci Hilligoss (Floyd), son David Morris, grandson Ian
Hilligoss (Ruth) and great grandchildren Vera and Royce. She is also survived by her sister
Vonnie Fisher (Earl) and nephews Chad and Ryan Fisher.
The family would like to thank the care team at West Chehalis assisted living facility and
Hospice for giving her care and comfort during her last days. Her family also credits her strong Christian faith and love of family for sustaining her in her long battle with Cancer.
She will be laid to rest at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Gig Harbor.
