Vicki Marlene Oaks, 80, of Ostrander passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, July 31, 2025, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware.
She was born April 20, 1945, in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Donnelly Vistius and Betty Louise (Davis) Vowell and graduated from Fairborn High School in 1963. On April 12, 1985, she married Ernest Leroy Oaks and together they shared 32 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Vicki was a floral designer for Breece's Floral Shop in Delaware for many years and was a showroom designer for The Columbus Gift Mart. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she attended Marysville Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her smile and laughter could light up any room. The memories she leaves behind are a gift we will treasure forever. May she now rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Donna (Dale) Blankenship and DeeAnn Shutt; stepson, Wayne (Karen) Oaks; stepdaughter, Regan Oaks; grandchildren, Seth, Abby, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, and Andrea; brothers, Michael (Mindy) Vowell and David (Michele) Vowell.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vicki was also preceded in death by her son David Griesinger, her nephew Thomas Vowell, and her brother Mark Vowell.
Services celebrating Vicki's life were held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Snyder Funeral Center, Delaware Chapel. Private burial took place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
