Vicki Rae Scheimann, age 72, passed away at her home in Iola, Kansas on March 19, 2024.
Vicki was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on October 24, 1951, to William and Katherine Neiswender. She grew up in Myerstown, Pennsylvania and graduated Eastern Lebanon County High School in 1969.
Vicki married Ronald Truax; they later divorced. She later married Frederick J. Scheimann, Jr. Together, they and their children moved wherever Frederick's job took them. She was known as a mom to many of her children's friends, and often fed a kitchen full of kids. Vicki enjoyed traveling and crocheting, and loved to dance to country music.
Vicki was preceded in death by both her parents; husband; sister, Dawn Soullard; infant son, Ronald Truax, Jr.; and granddaughter-in-law, Andrah Sheimann.
She is survived by siblings, Jean Thompson of Hillsgrove, Pennsylvania and William Neiswender of Myerstown, Pennsylvania; children, Brian and Roxanne Scheimann of Iola, Bonnie and Terry Salava, Sr. of Burlington; grandchildren, Timothy Scheimann and Elizabeth Watson of Topeka, Terry Salava, Jr. of Manhattan, William Salava of Burlington, Jeremiah Scheimann of Jay, Oklahoma, Molly Scheimann of Iola, and Katie Scheimann of Iola; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will plan a private memorial service for a later date. Memorials may be made to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Services, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Condolences for the family can be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
