Vickie Sue Caylor age 69 departed this life on Saturday March 8, 2025. She was born on February 19, 1956 to the late Hobart Caylor and Aileen Fox. She became a certified nursing assistant on June 25, 1998 and she worked at Markhill Hill Village, in Sevierville, TN for a few years after her graduation from nursing school. Her children were proud of her accomplishments as much as she was proud of herself. This was after caring for her second husband, J.J. James after he became paralyzed 12 days after the birth of their daughter in 1980, up to his death in December 1993. She also worked at the Seymour Public Library for a brief period before her husband J.J. passed and returned to work there again after his passing.
Her favorite book of all time was The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
She was an avid reader and a lover of books. She kept notebooks in which she would log every book she read in a year and the lists were awe inspiring. She read J.D.'s book more times than she or her loved ones could keep up with by the end of her life. Her love of reading fostered her children & grandchildren's interest and love of reading as well.
Vickie was very fond of cats, She stated her opinion, "If any person doesn't like cats you can't trust them! If they don't like any animals at all, don't trust them because there is something wrong with them." She loved birds and had many owl figurines. She always made sure to feed them in winter, even if the family was struggling financially she found a way. The photo of her displayed here, is her holding Lacey's cat Chara's babies. Vickie adored Chara and missing her family members cat's was one thing that she disliked about moving to Scott County.
Bill Hicks was her favorite comedian and his quote: "The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and its fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." Was one she used often mention and I feel she'd be happy with it here. Laugh with your loved ones as often as you possibly can.
Do what is best for you and your mental wellbeing, spread kindness where and when possible & remember that it's just a ride.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Kaylee Anna Seals; Second Husband: J.J. James; Brothers: Bobby Caylor, and Rick Caylor; Sister in Law: Lynn Damiwood Caylor; Special friend: Doug Back.
She is survived by her brothers: Jimmy Caylor, and Jack Caylor; Sister: Debbie Caylor; daughter: Lacey Dajcar (Frank); Grandchildren: Ethan Seals, Jesse James (Lucy) and Thor Scroggs.
