KEOTA-Vickie Flynn, age 74, of Keota, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
Vickie was born May 18, 1951, in Washington, Iowa, to Donald “Dick” and Yvonne (Myers) Norenberg. She graduated from Keota High School in 1969 and attended Iowa State University for one year. On June 27, 1970, she married Dan Flynn at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota and they were later divorced. Vickie lived in the Keota area and worked at Chase’s Jack and Jill and Malley Hardware, retiring in August of 2024. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, where she sang in the choir, and the Altar and Rosary Society. Vickie enjoyed her dogs, sewing, gardening and her grandkids.
Survivors include three sons: Scott (Holly) Flynn of Keota, Matthew (Jenny Hobbs) of Keota and Brett (Brynn Weimer) of Chicago; six grandchildren: Jacob, Thomas, Anna, Lily, Toby and Daniel; two sisters: Connie (Keith) Tuttle of Grimes and Terri (Dennis) Hawkins of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for the Keokuk County Hospice Foundation or Paws & More Animal Shelter in Washington. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Vickie and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
