Vickie Starr Obituary
Vickie L. Starr, 68, of Marion, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1957, in Marion.
Vickie's journey was one of resilience and determination. Though she left school early, she returned to night classes and proudly earned her high school diploma from Marion High School in 1986. This accomplishment was a testament to her perseverance and dedication to personal growth.
On June 18, 1986, Vickie married the love of her life, Larry D. Starr. Together they built a life filled with love and devotion that spanned nearly four decades. Vickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched countless lives with her kind heart and forgiving nature. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, William C. "Chris" (Brendi) Andrick II, Matthew W. (Tonya) Andrick and Michael J. Starr; stepchildren, Shawn R. Starr, Jesseca Spencer, and Gary D. Starr; siblings, Karen, Tanya, Frank, Charlotte, Gail, Eugene Carl, Chuck, Harvey, Johnny, David, Angle, and Josh; grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Shawna, Cody, Caleb, Kamrin, Christian, Makayla, Eli, Kolton, Kyra, Wyatt, Ashton, Benjamin, Nick, Caitlin, Seth and Izzy; several great-grandchildren; and many others who lovingly considered Vickie their adopted mom or grandma.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Philebaum and mother, Betty (Bartrum) Blessing; as well as her sister, Phyllis.
A faithful member of Life Tabernacle Church for many years, Vickie found joy in serving her church community through various roles. Her faith was central to her life and inspired those around her.
Vickie had a passion for creativity and connection. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting beautiful pieces for loved ones and found happiness playing cards and games with children. Her warmth extended beyond family gatherings as she shared laughter and love with all who crossed her path. Her legacy is one of love without boundaries-a woman who embraced everyone as family and whose kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
