Vickie Tramonte Moody, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 78, of Harrison, Tenn., passed away on Aug. 9, 2024, following complications stemming from a stroke. She is reunited in glory with the Lord Jesus Christ.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Vickie was the child of Mary Angel Tramonte and Peter Tramonte and grew up in the Windy City, graduating from Taft High School in Chicago. Shortly after her high school graduation, she met and married her first husband, Ed, with whom she had her two children. She eventually was divorced from him and lived in the Chicago suburb of Streamwood, Ill., where she raised her two children until they moved to Naples, Fla., in 1985.
In Naples, she worked most of her career for State Farm Insurance as an administrative assistant, eventually moving in 1998 to Davenport, Fla., because of a job transfer. She returned to Estero, Fla., in 2006 after having double bypass surgery in Davenport and lived in Florida again for five more years.
While living in Estero, she spent time with her firstborn grandchildren and helped her daughter after her divorce. She then relocated to Roswell, Ga., to be near her son and daughter-in-law as they were expecting their first child.
After living in the Atlanta area for six years, she met her beloved husband, Bill Moody, in 2016. They married and lived a wonderful life for eight years, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends – some familiar, many of them new. A devoted and caring wife to Bill, he credits her with keeping him alive as he was recovering from cancer treatment.
Vickie was a skilled seamstress, knitter and woman of many talents in the realm of crafting, teaching arts, and crafts classes at national retailers throughout her life. She began a knitting club in Alpharetta in 2012 and delighted many friends and family members by crafting them sweaters, shawls, afghan blankets and more. Beyond her work in that realm, Vickie was a beloved cook, a talented gardener and lover of animals. Caring for living things – whether they be human, plant or animal -- with gusto always brought her great joy.
Vickie was a devoted mother to her children, Anne-Marie (Case) Ryan and Jeff Case, both of whom she loved dearly. Their birth changed her life for the better, she said, and they felt that in the love, care and support she provided. Both credit their mother with teaching them the value of work ethic, devotion to family, and most importantly, the need to repent for our sin and accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary, her stepfather, John Lotz, and her grandson, Robert Stone.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Moody; daughter, Anne-Marie (Case) Ryan; son, Jeff (Karna) Case; stepdaughters, Sharon Stone and Sandy (Greg) Morton; grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua and Hannah Ryan, Emily and Sean Case; granddaughters, Sandy Jones and Jessica (Zach) Osgood; grandsons, John and Jack Stone, and great-granddaughter, Hazel Osgood.
The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 and from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Zack DiPrima officiating.
Vickie will be laid to rest sometime in September at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Ga.

Many memories as first cousin. The one I'll share here is from February 9th 1964. Vickie's mom, my Auntie "Mimi" was babysitting me. Vickie and I watched the Beatles Ed Sullivan debut in her room. She was 17 going on 18 and I was 10 going on 11, so she had to patiently put up with her goofy younger cousin. Our comment for the Beatles was the same as everybody else's--"they look like girls!" Rest in Peace, Vickie.
