Vicky Barrett Obituary
She began working at Bon Ton Bakery in Jefferson at 15 and moved on to Rowe Pottery before becoming a stay-at-home mom for her three boys: Chris, Nick (Kaitlyn), Matt/Ole (Savanna Wendtland). She loved being a mom and meeting her granddaughter, Blake.
While managing their home, Vicky worked alongside her husband and boys raising tobacco on their farm. She was an accomplished cook and baker and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She made every birthday special, and enjoyed celebrating all holidays, especially Christmas.
She is survived by her husband Bill, her family: Chris, Nick & Kaitlyn, Ole & Savanna, and her granddaughter, Blake; her siblings: Pam (Jeff) Poredos, Scott (Jane), Tony, Lori (Jason Draves) McCulloch-Eikland, Kathy (Dale) Tietz; and brother-in-law, Steve Ament, her Barrett in-laws and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Pat; and her sister, Wendy Ament.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton, and again on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. A family eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. and mass will start at 11:00 a.m. at ST. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunshine Care Center and the hospice nurses for the incredible care they gave Vicky and appreciate all of the support from family, friends and neighbors during the journey.
