Vicky J. Grove

Vicky Jo Grove, a beloved figure to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 83. Vicky lived a life defined by kindness, patience, and compassion.

Vicky graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton, Class of 1960, where she became known for her warm spirit and caring nature. She retired after many years of service as an office manager for Gem City Urologists. Upon retirement, she and Jerry moved to Campbellsville, Kentucky to enjoy their dream home and life on the lake.

In her personal life, Vicky was a woman of diverse interests and talents. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, knitting, and needlepoint, often sharing her creations with family and friends. A passionate musician, she delighted in playing the piano and singing. Above all, Vicky cherished spending time with her grandchildren and family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all.

She is survived by her devoted sons, David (Cherlyn) Grove and Bob (Amy) Grove, and her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Grove, Kayla Grove, Brandon Sanders, Shane Sanders, and Aaron Cimprich. Vicky is also survived by her caring sisters, Joyce Hastings and Susan (Tom) Hansen, along with many other family members and friends who will remember her for her gentle spirit and her ability to light up any room.

Vicky was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Jerry, her parents, Walter and Ruth Sower, and her granddaughter, Hannah Grove.

As we honor the memory of Vicky, we remember a life lived fully and with love. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of those she held close.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Vicky to Hospice of Dayton and/or St. Jude’s's.
