Vicky was born on May 5, 1957, in Eugene, OR, to James and Judy (Rhodes) Williams. Her early years were spent moving through the midwest with her family, experiencing living in Indiana, Wyoming, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, and North Dakota. She settled in Pierre where she completed her education by earning her GED. After earning her GED, she earned an Associates Degree in Business.

On November 23, 1987, she married Albert Hattum and they made their home on the Hattum Family farm in the Pocket, where they farmed and ranched together.

Her commitment to her community was evident through her active membership in the Helping Hands Club, where Vicky's contributions touched many lives. Vicky loved the farm life where she used her degree to maintain the business side of the farm. Vicky had many horses over the years and enjoyed spending time with them. If you needed to find Vicky during harvest time, your best bet was in the combine. She also had a passion for quilting. She crafted each quilt with precision and care, ensuring that every stitch was a reflection of her love and attention to detail. These quilts became cherished heirlooms, treasured by those who were fortunate enough to receive one.

Vicky is survived by her husband Albert, her children, Jennifer Dvorak, Elizabeth Olson, and Dan (Crystal) Hattum. She is also survived by her mother Judy Taylor, her brother, Richard Taylor, aunt and uncle, Joan and Sterling and her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her dad James and her grandparents Albert and Margaret Rhodes and James and Elaine Williams.
