Vicky Darlene Hodges, 69, of Smyrna, DE., passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.
Vicky was born March 16, 1954, in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of the late Brownie Dunman and William Hodges. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and, shortly after graduation, entered the United States Air Force. Vicky was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in 1975 and remained in Delaware following her separation from the military. Vicky retired from the City of Dover Police Department and went on to work for the State of Delaware, most recently with the Department of Correction. Very much a hard worker, Vicky always made time for her family and enjoyed spending time with those closest to her. She was an avid baker and spent her free time reading and crafting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; her grandparents; Edith Hodges, Eugene Hodges, Vera "Gonga" Hodges, Edward Akers Hodges, and her siblings; Blaine Hodges, Donnie Hodges, Felicia Lawson, and Wanda Clasbey.
Vicky is survived by her three children; Thomas Runyon of Smyrna, DE, William Runyon of Smyrna, DE; Victoria Brennan and her husband John of Felton, DE; her grandchildren, Natalie Runyon and Elena and Ethan Windle; her siblings; Randy Hodges, Ronnie "David" Hodges, Timothy Hodges, Gary Hodges, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE.
