Vicky J. Wade -
9/23/25-3/8/25
After a long illness, Vicky Wade passed away peacefully in the early morning hours March 8th, 2025. On the loving wings of the angels and wrapped in the arms of her daughters our beloved "Mama" was called home on National Women's Day by The Lord.
Vicky was known to all for her strength, independent spirit and her love of family and community. Vicky's steadfast faith in God enabled her to see the blessings in life. She spent many active years engaged with her local church and shared her faith with anyone she met. She was an active volunteer at her local food cupboard, where she not only supported her community but spent years sowing the seeds of friendship.
While Vicky worked hard, she also made time to enjoy her little piece of "The Way Life Should Be" in Concord Township, ME. Relaxing in the yard, walking in the woods, "puttering in the garden", and enjoying all the beauty the land had to offer. She loved nature and always had a special the connection to it. Each season was beautiful to her from the first blooms in spring to her fondness for those cold winter days when it would be "spittin' snow." She always shared her home with anyone and everyone that came to visit, camp, walk in the woods or sit a spell next to the garden in the shade. If you didn't chop a few logs or stack a little wood during a visit, you weren't fully visiting. She enjoyed being able to welcome her children who often shared the beauty of her land with their family and friends. This peaceful space she maintained was always a tremendous source of pride and joy for her.
Vicky is predeceased by her parents, Laurice "Gene" Wade and Laura (Timberlake) Wade. She is survived by her sister Melina DeCoster and brothers Kirk Wade and Charles Wade. She will remain kept close in the hearts of her 7 dear children Jeremy Izaak Hills and partner Brandy Murray, Laura Elizabeth Castle and husband Aaron Castle, Daniel Ezekial Parker and wife Paula Parker, Melina Ellen Fortin and husband Garrett Fortin, Naomi Ruth DeSantis and husband Dominic DeSantis, Jessica Hope Hills and partner Eli Merced and Joshua Wade Hills. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she enjoyed watching grow and her legacy will live on in the stories and memories they fondly recount.
In leiu of flowers the family kindly encourages monetary or goods donations be made in her honor to your local food pantry.
