Jefferson Wade Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mitchell Funeral Home, Inc. - Price on Feb. 13, 2026.
Jefferson Wade

HELPER- Jefferson Lawrence Wade, known to many as, "Wade," passed away at his home in Helper, Utah on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 71.

Wade was born in Seoul, South Korea, on March 10, 1954. Adopted at a young age, he journeyed to the United States, where he would grow up, become a citizen, and build a life defined by music, devotion, and family.

As a teenager and young adult, Wade immersed himself in music, mastering guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, and nearly any instrument he touched. His talent carried him into bands and on to the road, where he lived out the adventures of a true musician.

Wade was also a collector at heart - pens, notepads, instruments, vehicles, and countless small treasures that reflected his curiosity and the joy he found in simple things. But the greatest thing he ever collected was love.

In the spring of 2000, Wade met Vicki Lynn Nash, and the two quickly became inseparable. He embraced her children and grandchildren as his own, filling their lives with warmth, music, and unwavering support. As Vicki's health declined, Wade became her devoted caregiver, tending to her with extraordinary tenderness. He often praised her for teaching him, "what love really is," and he cherished the family she brought into his life.

Affectionately known as, "Grandpa Wade" and "Grandpa Mickey Mouse," he brought music and joy into every room he entered. Whether playing bongos, strumming a guitar, or softly picking out melodies on his ukulele, Wade used music to connect with the people he loved most. His grandchildren especially cherished the living room concerts he put on - full of laughter, rhythm, and the kind of magic only he could create - along with the ukulele lessons that became treasured family memories.

Our family will forever be grateful for the way Wade loved and cared for our mom. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited in heaven with the love of his life.

Graveside Service, FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2026, 11:00 a.m., Valley View Cemetery in Sunnyside, Utah. Friends are welcome to join the family at the cemetery.
