Opy Victor Dean Aumann (Opy), born on December 19, 1961, passed away surrounded by his loving family on February 29, 2024 at the age of 62. He grew up playing fastpitch softball at the Ken-Rock Community Center. Wearing #13 as the ace pitcher for the Rockford Redwings coached by his father, he led the team to multiple fastpitch national championship titles. Later on, Victor worked for the Home Depot in Janesville, WI for 10 years, where he spent a lot of time with his work family. His humorous button-pushing and tough-loving attitude reflected the fierce loyalty and love he had for his family and friends. More than willing to help, no questions asked, at the sound of his "Beer Can" by Luke Combs ringtone, it was no wonder why each of his many Superman shirts were well worn and loved. The great expectations he held for those around him were often accompanied by an iconic "careful-where-you-step" expression he carried at the ready. In every encounter, Victor always showed gratitude for quality time, whether it be traveling to TN, going to family members' sporting events, or even playing a game of Pot-It.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; children, Ondrea Aumann, Drake (Andrea) Aumann, Amanda (Josh) Reed, Courtney (Randy) Bird; loving grandchildren, Madison, Remington, Scarlette, Harper, Gatlin, Amelia and Rhetton; mother, Janice Aumann; siblings, Vince (Sara) Aumann, Michelle (Troy) Aumann-Eisenrich, Chad (David) Aumann; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Also his fur baby, Loretta Lynn. Victor is proceeded in death by father, Raymond Aumann (Bubba).
The family would like to say a special thank you to Melissa from Heartland Hospice and special friend, John Bartelme.
Memorial service will be at 4:00pm with a visitation from 2:00pm until the service on Monday, March 4, 2024 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. Pastor Anthony Maynard will be officiating.

April 19, 2024

I used to babysit him when he lived on Magnolia Street with his brother, Vincent. He was sure a cutie! Then, Janice and Ray had a daughter, Michelle, who I also had the pleasure of babysitting. They had Chad after I stopped babysitting. Was so shocked when I found out about Victor's passing. My deepest sympathy to his family and relatives from Sharon ( Sularz) Gonzalez
