Victor Charles Lovel, age 86, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Herrin Hospital.
Victor was born September 20, 1937 in De Soto, Illinois, a son of Charles H. and Lula M. (Rice) Lovel. He married the love of his life, Susan McMullin on December 04, 1969 in Carbondale. Prior to his retirement, Victor had worked as the refrigeration foreman for Southern Illinois University.
He is survived by his wife- Susan (McMullin) Lovel; one son- Larry (Terri) Lovel; one brother- Donald (Judy) Lovel; three grandchildren- Peyton, Gavin and Whitney Lovel, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents- Lula M. (Rice) and Charles H. Lovel; three brothers- Jerry, Jack, and Ronald Lovel; and three sisters-Ruby Throgmorton, Betty Stevens, and Wilma Lovel.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 28th, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, 2:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
