Victor Malone Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 16, 2025.
Victor Malone, 89, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, with family by his side.

Born on June 5, 1936 to Cora and Victor Malone Sr. of Gladwin, MI, he graduated from Gladwin High School and Delta College. He married his beloved wife, Eleanore, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a full and meaningful life in Midland, where they raised four children, built three beautiful homes for the family, and were members of St. Brigid Church.

A devoted husband and father, Victor dedicated his life to family and service to his community. He served the City of Midland for more than 35 years as a Manager in the Department of Public Works. Victor was deeply committed to helping others, volunteering as a coach for Midland Area Youth Football and Little League Baseball. He also contributed his time to Big Brothers and to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for seniors.

Following retirement, Victor and Eleanore divided their time between their homes in Midland and Winter Haven, Florida, where they enjoyed golf, bicycling, and spending time with friends and family. His love of exploration led to many adventures and lasting family memories.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love. Victor is survived by his wife, Eleanore; his son, Marc (Christal) Malone of Charlotte, NC; his daughters, Cynthia Douglas and Carmen (William) Ruona of Farmington Hills, MI, and Christine (Thomas) Elwell; his brother, William Malone of Onekama, MI; and his grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Malone; Marybeth and Jessica Ruona; Nicholas, Benjamin, and Jonathan Elwell. Victor is also fondly remembered by many relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Marino, and his brother, Wayne Malone.

A service and celebration of Victor's life will be held at a later date. The family suggests that a contribution be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
