CEDAR FALLS-Victor William Mark, 99, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.
He was born February 16, 1926, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Fred Clinton and Emma (Hug) Mark. He graduated from Finchford High School in 1944 and went on to serve his Country in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific in the Tinian Islands where the Enola Gay took off. On August 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Sherbon in Cedar Falls. She died November 16, 2023. Vic was employed at John Deere from 1947-1954 and then with the Cedar Falls Fire Department for 23 years, retiring in 1977. They enjoyed traveling together to California, Texas, and Florida during the cold Iowa winters. Vic was a coin collector and enjoyed a good porch sale.
Vic is survived by: daughter, Judy (Richard) Kramer of Traer; son, Ken (Kelly) Mark of Hanlontown; granddaughters, Stacey (Kent) Ward of Cedar Falls and Lisa (Matt) Heath of Trinity, FL; grandson, Casey Castle of Hazelton; and great-grandsons, Timothy and Michael Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Vickie Castle; two brothers, Orville and Wayne Mark; and five sisters, Marjorie Johnstone, Vivian Wilson, Hallie Lamb, Blanche Parris, and Myrtle Pashby.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls with visitation one hour prior. Online condolences at www.richardsonfuneralservice.com.
