Victor F. Metzig

Victor Metzig, a distinguished WWII Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the age of 102. Born and raised in Neenah, Wisconsin, Victor proudly served his country in North Africa during World War II. Following his military service, he pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin, earning an engineering degree that led to a successful career at Kimberly-Clark, where he dedicated over 40 years before retiring. Victor's commitment to his community was evident through his active membership in the Lions Club, where he contributed tirelessly to various charitable initiatives.
Victor's life was marked by love and family. He was married to his beloved wife, Ruth Metzig, for 71 years until her passing in 2022. Together, they raised three children, Diane Metzig Schmidt (husband Gregory) of Neenah, Wisconsin, David Metzig (wife Ruby) of St. Louis, Missouri; and Lynne Louise Metzig(deceased). Victor was a cherished grandfather to Michael, Leslie, Michelle, Carl, and Samuel; and a proud great-grandfather to Dominic, Valerie, Bella, Mateo, Lyla, Gianna (Gigi), and Giancarlo (Gianny). His legacy of kindness, dedication, and integrity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorial service will be held on June 29, 2024 with a visitation at 10:00 am and services at 11:00 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commercial St, Neenah, Wisconsin.
