VICTOR WYNKOOP

VICTOR WYNKOOP Pastor Victor Floyd Wynkoop, age 83, of Alger, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday morning, August 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 16, 1942, in Port Huron, Michigan, Vic was the son of the late Chellas and Helen (Baumann) Wynkoop. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Karen Wynkoop (Jackson); two sons, Alan (Jeanette) and Matthew (Dawn); seven grandchildren: Shane (Cassie), Alysha (Connor), Lauren (Clayton), Jason, Ayla (Andrew), Eryn (Robert), and Nathan (Morgan); and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Wynkoop; siblings Richard, Cecil, and Rosalie; grandson Travis Wynkoop; and great-granddaughter Thea Wynkoop. Vic proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. After his military service, he worked as a floor covering installer and also dedicated his life to ministry. He was a member of Whittemore Baptist Church and formerly served as pastor of Chapel of the Lakes Bible Church in Skidway Lake. Above all, Vic was a man of deep faith, known for his steadfast commitment to the Lord and his family. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loved ones - a testament of a life well lived, which brings solace to those who loved him. He will be greatly missed. Services for Vic were held on August 12, 2025 at Buresh Funeral Home in Prescott, MI.
