Victoria Ann (Doherty) Blevins was born on September 12, 1942, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Cox) Doherty of Amorita, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on August 18, 2025, at the age of 82.
Vicki was raised east of Amorita on a dairy farm, attending grade school in Amorita and graduating from Burlington High School. On July 31, 1960, she married Jerry Blevins, and together they built their home in Kiowa, Kansas. As their marriage grew, so did their family, welcoming two children: Cheris (Charles) Coggins and Bob (Kim) Blevins.
Over the years, Vicki and Jerry lived in Kiowa, Wichita, Clearwater, and Amorita before returning to Kiowa, where they ran their family business together. Throughout her life, Vicki worked as a dedicated bookkeeper for several businesses, including Moore Flowers, the Chevrolet dealership, John Deere, and Kiowa Hospital, though her greatest commitment was always alongside Jerry in their own business.
Vicki was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and proudly embraced her role as “Grandma” and “Mema.” She loved cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at sporting events, school programs, and dance competitions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy; her husband, Jerry; and her brother, Tom.
Vicki will be greatly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Melvin Swafford; her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Anita Doherty; and her sister-in-law, Kathy Doherty. She is survived by her children, Cheris and Charles Coggins, and Bob and Kim Blevins; her grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsi) Blevins of Kiowa, Blake (Margo) Harris of Vancouver, British Columbia, Hope (Brett) Foltz of Manhattan, Kansas, Christopher (Gabby) Coggins of Derby, Kansas, and Caitlin Coggins of Anthony, Kansas; as well as her eight great-grandchildren: Addison and Tucker Blevins, Ava and Mack Foltz, Elle and Walker Harris, and Grace and Devon Coggins.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa. A Rosary service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church.
