Victoria Cooper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrell Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 16, 2024.
Victoria Elizabeth Cooper was born on August 31, 1934, in the district of Mears, Parish of Clarendon, Jamaica West Indies, where she lived with her parents and siblings in James Hill, Clarendon.
She decided to leave James Hill, Clarendon, in 1957, for a better life and she then resided in Kingston, Jamaica. Victoria was employed by the Jamaica Omnibus Services (J.O.S.) for over 27 years, where she received her long service award, for service given. After leaving the bus company, Victoria retired and became a successful business owner. She opened and operated a grocery store which is still in operation today.
Victoria received the Lord into her heart and became a member of the Calvary Temple Church Of Christ in Kingston, Jamaica. After many years of faithful service, she was ordained as a Missionary. Victoria was a very hard worker and worked relentlessly to provide for her family. As years went on, she had the desire to travel to the United States of America. She was given the opportunity and received a multiple/indefinite US visa. She then travelled several times back and forth to South Carolina, Silver Spring, Maryland, and Orlando, Florida. She then returned to Jamaica. Victoria wasn't done with travelling. She took another trip to the US in April of 1992, this time it was to Springfield, MA. She became a United States citizen in August of 2006, and resided there until her death.
Victoria was a wonderful woman of God and was dedicated to the purpose of service. She was invited to the All Nations Church Of God. She came with her smile, and continued to come, and she never looked back. After a couple years, Victoria Cooper joined the All Nations Church Of God and her Missionary title was transferred over. Victoria was very active in the Sunday School Department and Bible Study. There was never a bible character that she wasn't familiar with. She could pronounce any biblical names, no matter how difficult they were. Victoria also played a big role in raising funds for our new church building. She would take part in our annual Walk-a-thon and would be one of the ones who would raise most of the funds each year. She was a prayer warrior and an intercessor; she would take time and call out each person by their names and would never be in a hurry to get off her knees. Victoria always cared about the poor and was always giving out of her needs to the hungry and homeless. She received several Certificates of Recognition and Appreciation for her generous support from the Springfield Rescue Mission and Food for the Poor, since 2002, which is a reflection of God's love and mercies. Also, her extraordinary support helps shine God's love on hungry, homeless, and hurting neighbors.
Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cooper, her sisters, and her brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, three sons, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and many friends.
