Victoria D. Kuntz, 55, died of colon cancer at 9:30 PM on September 23, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family in Bismarck, North Dakota. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015; 10:30 am at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015; 9:00 am - 8:00 pm with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour before the service on Tuesday. Victoria was born on July 18, 1960 to Robert L. and Peterann (Rich) Gilbert in Hartford, CT. Victoria married Albert Kuntz twice once in Bismarck ND on July 28, 1981 and the second marriage on June 3, 1985 at the Wesleyan Chapel in Connecticut. No divorce, just love. After receiving PhD in Chemistry from North Dakota State University, she worked for the Glidden Company in Ohio and UCB in Belgium, but her passion was teaching high school students in many cities including Mandan High School, where she was known as “DR”. As a young woman she traveled to Europe, Mexico, India and Canada. All who knew her will remember kindness, friendship and always willing to reach out to help people when her problems seemed meaningless. Victoria devoted the majority of her time to her daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Albert, whom she loved both dearly. Victoria will be deeply missed by her husband Albert Kuntz, Bismarck, ND; daughter Elizabeth Kuntz, Bismarck, ND, brothers, Stephen (Rebecca) Gilbert, Issaquah, WA and Peter (Emily) Gilbert, Cleveland, OH; along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, cousins, nephews and nieces. Victoria was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Gilbert (2013), Peterann (Rich) Gilbert in 2005, and son Spencer (1994). In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Cancer Association.

Victoria was a generous, deeply compassionate person who touched the lives of many, many people. She will be missed but she will never be gone for her memory will be carried and cherished by those whose lives she touched each day. I'll miss you, my friend. I promise to conquer math!

Victoria, was a sister and loving friend in our Alzheimer's Support Group. I remember a few months, whenever she learned of my cousin, having colon cancer, chemo. treatments, even through her own personal medical journey, she reached out to me to offer her loving assistance. She was definitely a fighter and she persevered throughout her journey, doing it her way. She left me with so much admiration and love for her. She will be missed but her memories of love, I will always cherish. Dianne Creel.
