Victoria Myers Obituary

Victoria Myers
03/13/1951 - 02/12/2026
On 12 February 2026, Victoria Kennard Myers passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a long struggle with dementia and related complications. Victoria lived in Kingwood for over 40 years, where she cared for and nurtured her family, worked as an RN, taught nursing students at Lone Star College, attended Kingwood United Methodist Church, and spent countless hours on youth soccer fields.

Born in 1951, she was raised by Lt. Col. (Ret.) Harold Mortimer Kennard and Lily Anne Kennard, growing up in an Air Force family alongside her older brothers, Bruce and Dave, and her younger sister, Kerry. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse, caring for her dolls' imaginary ailments as her family moved throughout the United States and Germany.

Victoria began training as a candy striper as soon as she was old enough and later attended the highly regarded nursing program at Syracuse University from 1969 to 1973. It was there that she met her husband. Victoria, a cheerleader, and Tom, a star football player, fell in love almost immediately during Tom's senior year. As Tom entered the NFL draft and eventually joined the New Orleans Saints, the two planned to reunite after her graduation.

They were married in Syracuse, New York, on May 26, 1973, and lived happily in New Orleans; Eugene, Oregon; and Los Altos, California, during Tom's time with the Saints. In 1979, they welcomed their first child, Whitney, and later added Kent, Todd, and Jordan as Tom completed his football career and the family settled in Houston. Victoria worked at Northeast Hospital while raising her children, selflessly supporting them with phone calls, care packages, and visits as they later pursued their own paths in academia, business, and the military.

Known for her warmth and kindness, Victoria was happiest while caring for others, especially her husband, children, grandchildren, friends, students, and many pets. She is lovingly remembered by her children-Whitney Myers and Brian Madden; Kent and Tatiana Myers; Todd and Alina Myers; and Jordan and Brian Von Hagel-who brought her endless laughter and more than a few good stories. She will be remembered always for the way she loved-fully, generously, and with joy-by her husband, her children, and her ten grandchildren. Services to honor Victoria are planned for July 2026.

Victoria was a wonderful nurse and friend I loved working with her, but spent an equal amount of time sitting on the sidelines watching our children play soccer. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Special hugs to Whitney.

Victoria and I worked for many years together at Northeast Medical Center Hospital, Humble, Texas. She was an amazing mother, wife, nurse and a truly Dear Friend. We also occasionally shared fun trips to a local Trade Days with two other close friends. Those trips were relaxing and full of laughter for four friends who worked diligently together in a busy outpatient day surgery unit.
I will never forget Victoria and her caring for people and her love for her husband and children. Suzanne Gates, McKinney, Texas

Victoria was one of the kindest and most thoughtful and genuine people I have ever known. When we moved to Kingwood in 1995, and had the great good fortune to buy a house across the street from the Myers, Victoria became my lifeline. Always ready to answer a question, offer advice, help with finding doctors/dentists, or anything else related to settling into our new life in KW. She was an amazing friend. Love to the Myers from the Rosenthals.

Tom and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Victoria´s passing. I have many fond memories of times sitting together on the soccer sidelines while Whitney and Beth played. She was always so lovely and gracious. Praying you are all surrounded by God´s love and peace.
