I remember us making a tent with blankets over a clothes line in her mother's (my aunt Mary) yard. As a teenager, I remember dancing (chicken was the popular dance then) to Rock Around the Clock in her East Detroit basement. I remember Vickey screaming with excitement when Elvis Presley performed on the television on the Ed Sullivan Show. The family gathered at Aunt Mary's home to witness Charles officially propose to Vickey. I remember being a member of her wedding party and how beautiful she was on that special day!
