Vidal Borrego Jr.

Vidal Borrego, Jr., of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth, humor, and love of life touched everyone who knew him.

Born in El Paso, Vidal was a graduate from Cathedral High School 1964, he spent his life rooted in the community he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he earned the distinction of becoming a Shellback-an honor he spoke of often and with great pride.

After his service, Vidal dedicated his career to Newman Glass and Baker Glass, where he worked tirelessly throughout his life. His hard work, loyalty, and steady character were evident in everything he did.

Vidal is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary G. Borrego; his daughters, Kathy Patterson and Joanna Lopez; his grandchildren, Jeremy Alvarado, Adam and Nicholas Patterson; his son in laws Andy Patterson and Hammeem Lopez and his great-granddaughter, Madelyn Alvarado.

Vidal had a gift for making others smile. He was happiest near the water, whether out on a boat or by the swimming pool, where he found peace and joy. His sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and kind heart will be deeply missed.

Vidal's life was one of service, love, and laughter-a legacy that lives on in the family and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
