Martin Borrego IV

"Uncle Maak" • "Stinker"

February 23, 1971 – September 30, 2025

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Borrego IV, who went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2025, in Denton, Texas. He was 54 years old.

Born on February 23, 1971, in Galveston, Texas, Martin was the firstborn child of Martin and Marie Borrego. A proud BOI (Born on the Island), he often joked that he was his grandmother's favorite-and being the first grandchild on his father's side, he might have been right.

Martin began his education in Galveston Catholic schools, attending St. Patrick's and St. Mary's, before moving on to Burnet, Stephen F. Austin Middle School, Central, and Ball High School. A man of deep faith, he was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Galveston, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and began his lifelong walk with the Lord.

Those who knew Martin will remember him as the life of the party. With a quick wit and a gift for laughter, he loved nothing more than making others smile. To his friends and family, he was a loyal companion, always ready with a joke, a story, or a helping hand. He especially cherished his many phone conversations with special friends and family members, including cousins Ben Campos, Richard Ramos, Arnold Valdez, Alex Salazar, and Rick Guzman; his brother-in-law Robert Beach; his nephew Brendan Beach; and dear friends Katy Renfrow Smith, Anne Grasso Pierce, Jimmy Sinclair, and Jeff Cole. These conversations meant the world to him and kept him closely connected to those he loved.

Martin spent much of his career as a car salesman and finance manager, where his talent for connecting with people shone through. He became the go-to person for friends and family looking to buy a car, and he was especially proud to recently help his niece Madison purchase her very first one.

Above all, Martin will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, his unwavering love for his family and friends, and the joy he brought into every room. He was a loving son, a great brother, and a proud uncle, roles he treasured deeply and lived out with love and devotion.

He is survived by his mother, Marie Borrego; his sister, Michelle Beach (Robert); his nephew, Brendan Beach (Caroline); his niece, Madison Beach (fiancé Blake); his great-nephew, Blake Beach; and his loving dog, Nyla. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Borrego IV, and his brother, Conrad Borrego.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rafaela and Lola, whose care, compassion, and dedication brought comfort and peace to Martin in his last months.

Martin's presence will be deeply missed, but his laughter and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Officiating the service will be Pastor John Theisen with a closing prayer by his Aunt Janie Saucedo.
