Vidal M. Villegas, Jr., a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Lake Jackson, Texas. Born on August 12, 1961, in Sinton, Texas, he filled his life with music, laughter, and love for his family and friends.

Vidal dedicated many years to the construction industry, working as a Mason, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. However, beyond his professional accomplishments, it was his vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was a man of many talents, often surrounding himself with music and effortlessly playing various musical instruments, especially his beloved guitar. His passion for music extended to his appreciation of the works of Willie Nelson, whose melodies resonated with Vidal’s spirit.

An avid fisherman, Vidal enjoyed many serene hours pursuing his passion along local waters. When not fishing, he loved to embark on long motorcycle rides, relishing the freedom these journeys brought him. In quieter moments, he often found joy in drawing, creating pieces of art that he generously shared with his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and thoughtfulness.

Vidal leaves behind a devoted family, including his children, Anita Marie Watson and her husband Jeremy of Freeport, Vidal David Villegas and his wife Monica of Freeport, and Zachary Kyle Villegas and his wife Rebecca of Freeport. His grandchildren, Jayson, Michael, Addyline, Ava, and Israel, will carry with them the warmth of his love and the lessons he imparted. He is also survived by his cherished siblings: Velma Thompson, Virginia Villegas (Miguel), Victor Villegas, Vernette Rowden (Ernest), Vincent Villegas, Annette Tamez (Freddie), and Alexander Villegas (Celina), along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Vidal was predeceased by his parents, Anita (Martinez) and Vidal Rumaldo Villegas, Sr., his son Michael Villegas, his brother Manuel Villegas, and his longtime partner Dorothy Phillips (Dottie). Their memories will live on in the hearts of his family, as they remember the love and guidance he provided throughout his life.

Relatives, friends and members of the Fraternal Order of The Eagles 3111 are invited to his viewing on Friday May 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX, with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor at St. Mary Star Of The Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, TX, on Saturday May 31, 2025, at 1:30 P.M., followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers are Zachary Villegas, Rumaldo Villegas, Freddie Tamez Jr., Jeremy Watson, Matthew Villegas, George Green, Emmanuel Pena & Carl Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Israel Cazzaly, Jayson Bosarge, Michael Bosarge, Elias Hernandez & Noah Watson.
