Vilner Bertrand

Vilner "Papo" Bertrand, age 86, passed away on January 3, 2026, in Stamford, CT. Born on January 7, 1940, in Au-Cayes, Haiti, Vilner lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family and an enduring spirit that touched all who knew him.

A simple, hardworking man with a charismatic presence and a down-to-earth nature, Vilner was known for his sense of humor and the warmth he brought into every room. His life was defined by resilience and love-qualities that made him not only a cherished father but also a beloved figure among those fortunate enough to know him.

Vilner is survived by his daughters, Berline Bertrand and Kerline Bertrand and his sons, Jamesy Bertrand, Adwins Bertrand, and Ross Bertrand. He was predeceased by two daughters, Linda Bertrand and Shelsea Bertrand. His legacy lives on through his children and the many lives he touched with his kindness and strength.

The family is heartbroken by Vilner's passing and is currently facing unexpected expenses related to funeral arrangements. Any contributions to assist during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated.

Visitation will be held at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, on Saturday, January 17th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17th at 10:00 am at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT.
