Vimalaben Mafatbhai Parekh
February 1, 1942 – September 20, 2025
With profound love and sorrow, we share the peaceful passing of Vimalaben Mafatbhai Parekh, age 83, who departed for the lotus feet of Sri Krishna on September 20, 2025. Surrounded by her family and immersed in the divine name of Sri Bhagavan, she left this world enveloped in love and devotion.
Born on February 1, 1942, in Alarsa, Gujarat, to Somabhai and Manekben, Vimalaben was one of five siblings-Savitaben, Ramanbhai, Natubhai, and Kamalaben. Her childhood was filled with joyful days playing with her brothers and sisters-memories she cherished and lovingly shared throughout her life.
On January 21, 1961, she married Mafatbhai Parekh and relocated to Israma. Together, they had six children: Daksha, Kusum, Atul, Narendra, Naresha, and Gautam. Their home was lovingly presided over by Ichha Baa, Vimalaben's mother-in-law, completing a family rich in tradition and warmth. Tragically, their son Atul passed away at the tender age of three from pneumonia-an event that forever remained in their hearts.
Despite humble means, Vimalaben and Mafatbhai created a home full of love, devotion, and unity. Her days were spent nurturing her children, and her evenings were filled with stories of Sri Bhagavan, lovingly recited by her husband around the family fire. Her deep love for children extended beyond her own family-she joyfully volunteered at the local Bal Mandir, and provided support to children within her community.
As her children grew and settled around the world, Vimalaben and Mafatbhai had the opportunity to travel to England, Canada, and the United States-experiences that brought her immense joy. Her greatest happiness, however, was found in helping raise her grandchildren, whose lives she touched deeply.
After the passing of Ichha Baa and her beloved husband Mafatbhai, Vimalaben became the matriarch of the Parekh family. In 2009, she permanently moved to the United States, where she spent her days sewing clothes for Bal Gopal, cooking at the local temple, and lovingly helping raise her grandchildren.
In her later years, Vimalaben bravely battled Alzheimer's disease, which slowly took away her independence. With unwavering devotion and love, her son Narendra and daughter-in-law Nita cared for her until her final days.
She is survived by her two siblings, Natubhai and Kamalaben, and five loving children and their spouses: Daksha & Rajendra, Kusum & Dixit, Narendra & Nita, Naresha & Kamlesh and Gautam.
She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and their sposes:
Jayesh & Priya, Minesh & Immagen, Urvashi & Kuldeep, Bhavin, Monil, Daxesh & Avani, Vrunda & Vishal, Niyati, Archit, Mihir, Shyam, and Radhika.
Her legacy continues through ten great-grandchildren:
Mahi, Shivanna, Rajveer, Millie, Leo, Aria, Araya, Bansri, Darshan and Radha.
Her life was a shining example of love, devotion, and resilience. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
We love you, Vimu Baa.
