Vincent Atigna Obituary
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 29, 1942 to Mary and Frank Atigna.
Vincent served in the U.S. Air Force as an Operating Room Specialist at Plattsburgh AFB and was honorably discharged in 1963. He became a New York City Transit Police Officer in 1965, retiring in 1986. Vincent coached Great Kills Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams for many years in the 1970's and 80's. He enjoyed watching the N.Y. Mets and making yearly trips to Las Vegas.
Vincent was predeceased by his wife Angie and his three sisters Theresa, Maryann and Joan.
He is survived by his daughter Anna, his son Mike, Mike's wife Dawn and his granddaughter Ellie.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
