Vincent Eugene "Vince" Blossom, 65, of Rockford passed away Saturday June 1, 2024 in a tragic motorcycle accident. Vince was born April 18, 1959 in Celina, Ohio and was the son of the late Eddy L. Blossom and Shirley A. (Platt) Blossom.
Vince was a 1977 graduate of Parkway High School. After graduation, he joined the U. S. Army, serving from 1977 until 1981. He was trained in weapons, tactics, patrolling, and other duties that qualified him to perform in a rifle or mortar squad. Vince served in the 82nd Airborne and the "Alpha Animals" 14th infantry. He remained very proud of his service and military achievements.
Vince had a strong work ethic. He was working as a press operator at Crown Manufacturing in Celina until the time of his death. Vince was an avid outdoorsman and loved any activities that took him outside. He especially loved riding his motorcycle. But most of all Vince loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons, Tommy P. Martin of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Vincent M. "Boone" (Lisa) Blossom of Willshire, Ohio, Eddy P. "Jake" Blossom of Rockford, Ohio, and Corey Blossom of Decatur, Indiana; one daughter, Marissa Blossom of Decatur, Indiana; one sister, Vivian (Joseph L.) Thompson of Elgin, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Willow, Brody, Godric, Vincent "Zane", Kadence (Chanler), Noah, Izaya, Rebekkah, and Rayden; and three great grandchildren, Emmy, Kam, and Kaysen.
In addition to his parents, Vince was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Blossom.
A memorial service to honor the memory of Vince will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2024 at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882 with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Military rites will be conducted immediately following services at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday, June 7, prior to the memorial service, at the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
