Vincent Cheung Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 23, 2025.
In Loving Memory of

Vincent Wing-Choi Cheung

June 25, 1958 – October 16, 2025

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Vincent Wing-Choi Cheung, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on October 16, 2025, at the age of 67.

A Life of Faith and Family

Born on June 25, 1958, in Hong Kong SAR, China, Vincent was the eldest of four children. He was a devoted brother to Wendy Leung, Wing Ming Cheung, and Fanny Cheung, and now rejoices in reunion with his sister Sau Man Cheung, who passed before him.

On October 15, 1983, Vincent married the love of his life, Yvonne Wai Fun Cheung. For more than 42 years, their marriage was filled with laughter, faith, and quiet acts of devotion. Together they built a family grounded in love and service. Vincent is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his daughter Sophia Cheung Barnhill and her husband Michael Barnhill; his son Eric Cheung and his wife Sarah Leung Cheung; and his cherished grandchildren, Micaela and Clark Barnhill, who filled his days with delight and pride.

Faith, Work, and Joy in Every Season

Vincent immigrated to the United States on July 7, 2003, where he continued to live a life of faith, hard work, and family devotion. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he found profound peace in the gospel. One of his greatest blessings was being sealed for time and all eternity to Yvonne in the Hong Kong Temple-a sacred covenant that assured him their love would endure beyond this life.

Before immigrating, Vincent worked as a recreation center manager, a role that perfectly reflected his love for people, community, and joyful living. He believed that play and connection could bring out the best in everyone.

Passions and Adventures

Vincent's love for soccer was lifelong. Whether playing with friends, teaching Eric how to dribble and pass, or showing his grandchildren how to score their first goals, the sport was a language of love and laughter. Even when his health declined, he never stopped cheering for the players he inspired.

He also had a deep passion for travel, exploring the beauty of Asia, Europe, North America, and South America with his family. Wherever he went, Vincent sought out good food, good company, and the simple joys that make life rich. He had a gift for seeing beauty in small moments-especially when sharing a meal with those he loved most.

Strength Through Trial

In July 2019, Vincent was diagnosed with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. For six years, he faced every challenge with faith, courage, and humor. Through it all, he never stopped expressing gratitude for life's blessings. He reminded his family daily to laugh often, love deeply, and find joy in every day.

A Legacy of Love

Vincent will be remembered for his gentle heart, kind spirit, and unwavering optimism. He taught by quiet example-to love fully, serve faithfully, and trust God's plan through every season of life. His memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him, and his influence will live on through generations of family who carry his light forward.
