Vincent Nuccitelli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wing Mortuary - Lehi on Feb. 27, 2026.
Lt. Col. Vincent Victor Nuccitelli

15 February 1934 - 24 February 2026

Vincent Victor Nuccitelli was born 15 February 1934 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the oldest child and only son of Vittorio Angelo and Felamena DeCesare Nuccitelli. Known as "Babe" in the family, he was the older brother to Gloria, Jacqueline, and Gerardina.

Educated by Catholic Jesuit priests at Fairfield Preparatory Academy, followed by Fairfield University. Vince joined the United States Air Force in 1954 where he was known as "Nooch". He married Karen Gardner in 1960, becoming an instant father to Beth, then adding three sons - Brett, Kevin, and Chris.

In 1973, Vince found Peace in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and deepened his discipleship of Christ in covenant baptism. He retired from the USAF after serving 20 years, both wartime and peacetime, and moved the family to Utah. Vince and Karen were bound together and to their four children through eternity in the Temple Covenant.

Always seeking to do more, Vince completed additional education and technical training, which allowed him to work in real estate, management, and the emerging computer industry. For a little fun, he enjoyed golfing.

Vince and Karen enjoyed social gatherings with many friends made along the way, including a dinner group that continued for over half a century. Military friends were checked on. The elderly, widowed, or overlooked were cared for. His nature drew people in, never shutting people out.

His gentleness was shown as he served devoutly in his Faith, including as Bishop of the Highland 6th ward. He loved to be in the House of the Lord, serving and worshipping as a Temple worker as well as patron.

Vince was always proud of his Italian heritage and valued deep family roots. He was tender in his care of his wife for the nearly 55 years of marriage, as well as to 18 grandchildren and the many great and great great grandchildren. He was proud to be nephew, uncle, cousin, and brother-in-law.

Survived by his children, Beth (Caryn; Scott Gary, late) Gary-Whitehead, Brett (Sherry) Nuccitelli, Kevin (Karen) Nuccitelli, and Christopher (Marie) Nuccitelli.

Preceded in death by his father, Vic, and mother Florence; sisters "Sis", Jackie, and Geraldine; wife Karen; grandchildren Dominic, Bridget, and Kody; and niece, Cathy.

Someone who knew him shared near the end of his mortal time, "We will miss Vince and his cheerful ways. He always had a good story and a smile for everyone. We are grateful we had the opportunity to know Vince and loved his enthusiasm and the twinkle in his eyes. He has a standout personality and a zest for life that made it hard for him to let go."

A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at the Cedar Hollow Stake Center located at 2178 N 1200 E, Lehi, UT. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 11 a.m., with a viewing prior from 10-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at the Lehi City Cemetery, located at 1100 North 400 East, Lehi, Utah.
