Vincent Donald Ross

Vincent Ross Vincent Donald Ross, 85, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away September 16, 2025 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He was a man of Christian faith; and his passing was peaceful in the presence of loved ones. Vince was born in Mason City Iowa, September 9, 1940 to Opal and Donald Ross. He spent his youth and teen years in Britt, Iowa. Upon attending college, Vince met a beautiful young lady named Armon Rhoda. "Who chased whom" is a disputed fact, but nonetheless, they fell for each other and enjoyed their college years together. The two were married on August 23, 1963. Vince was a family man through and through. He supported and encouraged his children, in academics, sports and theater. He rarely ever missed a school or sporting event, rain or shine, for his five grandchildren, Ben, Clara, Ellie, Josie, and Savanna. He also loved sharing family time in the outdoors, including hiking, camping, boating, golfing, and just hanging out. His creativity and sense of humor made all time shared with him so enjoyable. Vince loved the Golden Gophers; hardly missing a football or basketball game for over 20 years. He also enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings; some years! He spent all of his professional life in the field of education. He began as a teacher of English and social studies, progressed to a guidance counselor, high school principal, and finally an assistant superintendent. He loved the energy of working with young people as well as other educators. He always treated his work with a good balance of fairness, authority, and humor. Vince is survived by his wife, Armon; his three children, Allyson Czaja, Angela (Dan) Olson and Nathan Ross; and his beloved grandchildren, Ben, Clara, Ellie, Josie, and Savanna. He's also survived by one sister, Vicki (Stuart) Peterson and family. Vince was preceeded in death by his brother Vaughn Ross, his mother and father, Opal and Don Ross, and grandparents and great grandparents.
