Vincent Sarracco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph J Smith Funeral Home Inc on Oct. 27, 2022.
Vincent Sarracco of Mahopac, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 one day shy of his 82 birthday. Vincent was born on October 26, 1940 in Fragneto Monforte, Italy, the son of Salvatore and Gemma (Crescitelli) Sarracco.
Vincent emigrated from Italy in 1958, settling in Bronx, NY. He retired in 1996 as a manager at General Foods in Clifton, NJ. During his 32 years with the company, he held several positions leading up to his management position.
Following his career at General Foods, he worked at White Plains Hospital in Medical Records for 10 years, then volunteered at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY. Vincent enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. He enjoyed playing cards and would take frequent trips to Atlantic City. His greatest love was spending time with his family; relaxing with a glass of Dewar's and following a family dinner, a sip of Strega.
On June 8, 1963 he married Eileen Uzovich at St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx. In addition to Eileen, he is survived by his son, Vincent and his wife, Laurie of Lake Carmel, NY; his daughter, Dianne Doty of Mahopac; his 4 beloved grandchildren, Robert, William, Julia and Sophia; his sister, Giulia Ottaviani and her husband, Mario of Rome and his beloved nephew, Enrico, and all of his other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Mary Jamonte in 2002.
Visiting will be held on Friday, October 28 from 3-7 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Mahopac. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Friends may gather Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service. Private cremation will follow and interment of Vincent's cremains will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
