I was lucky enough to know Vince since I was seventeen years old, for over twenty-four years. I've joked with his daughter, Logan, that I knew him better than she did since I knew him longer than she's been alive. Vince was not only my father-in-law but my friend.

I will miss all the stories he would tell me about growing up and about his friends. I'll never forget one where his buddy pretended to arrest him at the airport, making a scene, all for a good laugh. He always made me laugh. He also had great advice. He once told me "You know what, Nate, it's all bull and you go from there!" Lol, I couldn't agree more, and I quote that saying whenever I get the chance. He was never shy to share his take.

I also loved the way he lived his life...because he lived it exactly how he wanted to live it. He never worried about what anyone else thought, I never once saw him take any guff from anyone, ever. I admired that about him. I've even stolen some of his parenting techniques, believe it or not. He didn't sugar coat anything. I watched the kids grow up less naive and more ready for real life because of it, I try to implement that same approach with my children.

He could fix anything, and I mean anything. I can't tell you how many times he helped us with our cars...be it oil changes, breaks, alternators or new tires. He must have replaced twenty different iPhone screens over the years, Mike always broke them! Whatever needed fixing, you knew who to call, he had a working knowledge of just about everything. Computers were my only edge, he'll always be the busboy (he knows what that means). He was also our go-to wheeler and dealer. If you were going to buy a new car, you brought Vince and he made sure you got the best deal possible.

He loved his family and was always involved. My friends around Mequon would always comment on things like "Hey I saw Vince and Logan palling around at Sendik's today." We used to spend hours and hours just hanging out at the house, he always wanted us around. Though I still wish he would have turned on the AC once in a while! We had so many great times over there.

He loved my kids and they loved him. He would always ask to hang out with them and when they weren't together he would Facetime with them. We literally had to beg him to stop buying toys for the kids, he even enlisted his friend Richard in the madness. At one point we had two storage lockers just to hold all the surplus toys, not kidding. When my daughter heard of his passing she was heartbroken and went to her room to gather everything he had ever given her but had to stop because "it's everything in my room, mom."

I will miss him more than words can express.

I love you, Vincenzo.

Sandie and I send our deepest sympathies to the entire family. Vince was a close friend for over 55 years. He was always a fun guy to be around who was always upbeat even through his illness the past couple of years. He always talked about his family which he was very proud of. He will be truly missed by his many friends. RIP my good friend.
