Vincent Solis, born on January 22, 1931, in Jimenez, Mexico, passed away peacefully in Huber Heights, Ohio, on January 10, 2026, at the age of 94. A devoted family man and a cherished friend, Vincent will be remembered for his vibrant personality and great sense of humor.
Vincent’s early education took place in a small town school in Jimenez, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and dedication. For more than 40 years, he was a truck driver, following a decade-long career as a furniture mover. His work ethic was admirable, and his commitment to his profession was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith and community; he was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and an active participant in the Huber Heights First Baptist Church.
Beyond his professional life, Vincent was remembered fondly for his silly personality, unique storytelling, strong Mexican accent, overspeaking too much and too loudly in conversation, and often randomly sharing humorous quotes like, “No one knows where the hobo goes.” He found immense joy in spending quality time with his family, which included creating memories with his great-grandchildren, especially little Gracelynne. His leisure time was filled with beloved hobbies such as dancing, gardening, spending time drinking coffee at donut shops, including McDonalds, and engaged interest in political matters as he enjoyed watching CNN, especially Larry King Tonight. Additionally, he found tranquility in the simple pleasures of walking around his neighborhood and fishing during his retirement years.
Vincent is survived by his beloved sister, Enriqueta Vielma; grandchildren Colin (Novika) Solis, Keisha Perez, and Brittany Kunkleman; great-grandchildren Gracelynne Solis, Bayla Kunkleman, and a great-grandson on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Solis; children Darlene Solis, Carmen Solis, and Wayne Solis; parents Eusebio Solis and Luz Barrera; and siblings Diamantina, Donato, Belisario, Heriberto, Amelia, Arquimedes, Evelio, and Rogelio.
Vincent Solis leaves behind a legacy marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit, and his memory will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Huber Heights First Baptist Church, 5875 Shull Road, Huber Heights, Ohio, 45424. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am.
