Vincentia Mary Thunder Hawk was born on August 20, 1935 in Porcupine, SD to Charles Thunder Hawk and Susana Jealous of Him. Vincentia made her journey to the Spirit World on New Year's Day-January 1, 2024 at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home near Rushville, NE.
Vincentia enjoyed the company of family. She loved to cook and feed everyone that came to visit her. In her free time, she loved riding horses, planting gardens, and just being outdoors. She liked watching her western shows and listening to KILI Radio while cooking and washing dishes. She was good at sewing and beading. She attended church and sang in the choir. Vincentia loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Vincentia is survived by her children, Arlo Conroy, Corbin Conroy, Jane Thunder Hawk-Fredrick, Vincentia Little, and Carmen Little; sisters, Genevieve Thunder Hawk-Richards & Family, Gladys Thunder Hawk-Gay & Family, and Bernadette "Rita" Thunder Hawk & Family; grandchildren, Dr. Otakuye (Colin) Conroy-Ben & Family, Wee (Alex) Conroy-Arobba & Family, Jesse and Brittany Conroy & Family, Arlo Conroy, Jr., Sotah Conroy, Justin Black Moon & Family, Opal Conroy, Corbin Conroy, Jr., Kateri Conroy, Jade Leo Hathway-Miranda, Asa Conroy, Glenda (Jenz) Conroy-Fuller, Susanna Thompson, Larry Thompson, Jr., Selena Thompson and Harley Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and friends.
Vincentia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thunder Hawk and Susana Jealous of Him; daughter, Glenda Conroy; son-in-law, Larry Thompson; sisters, Lillian Thunder Hawk and Elizabeth Thunder Hawk; brothers, Francis "Chubb", Johnson, Joseph, and Martin "Buzzy" Thunder Hawk; great-great granddaughter, Jessalyn Conroy; grandparents, Martin Thunder Hawk, Fanny Twiss- Thunder Hawk, Louisa Two Hearts and William Jealous of Him; and nephew, Eddie Jordan.
Pallbearers will be Brian Thunder Hawk, Anthony Gay, Dan Rodriguez, Glenn Richards, Larry Thompson, Jr., Arlo Conroy, Jr., Albert Marshall and Asa Conroy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Vina Smoke-Conroy, Shirley Ann DuBray & Family, Mary Young Bear & Family, Freda Brewer & Family, Bryan Brewer & Family, Charity White Face & Family, Donette Lone Hill & Family, David Pourier & Family, Thunder Hawk Family, Gay Family, Rodriguez Family, Nurse Frost, and All Nieces, Nephews, Friends & Relatives.
Wake Services: Two night wake service with the first night starting at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD and the second night starting at the Evergreen Community Building at 4:00 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Funeral Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Evergreen Community Building near Porcupine, SD.
