Violet Jamison

Violet LaVerne Jamison was born on July 5, 1930, to Coleman and Pearl Ray in Powderly, TX. She passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the vibrant age of 94 at Mansfield Medical Lodge.
After graduating from Gibbons High School in Paris, TX, Violet moved to Dallas to further her education at Cedar Valley College and All State
Business College and embarked on a fulfilling career.She was a retired educator from the Dallas Independent School District,
where she served for over 30 years. She was loved by her students and always went above and beyond to ensure their success. After retiring, she dedicated her time to helping raise her younger granddaughters and great granddaughters.
She was a faithful member of Good Street Baptist Church, Bon Air Baptist Church, and later St. John Church until she could no longer attend in
person services. She loved to bake, cook, sew, watch golf, play the piano, and play bingo. When she wanted to be competitive, she enjoyed a good game of dominos. Her favorite pastime was watching the Dallas Cowboys play. Family get-togethers were a delight for her, especially when she made her famous peach cobbler.
Violet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Jamison; father, Coleman Ray; mother, Pearl Randall; step-father, Zenobia Randall; her son, Clifford Mullins Jr.; brother, Marion Ray; and sisters, Wilanda Pat Wright, Betty Jean Brown, and Betty Ray. Her first husband, the late Clifford Mullins Sr., also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Mickye Mullins (husband Alonzo) Howard and La Vonda Jamison; three granddaughters, Dr. Nikita (husband
Roderic) Russell, Ryliegh Haynes, and Triniti Houston; and four great-granddaughters, Madison Russell, Kennedy Russell, Kierré Ruffin, and Ryan Jones; sister Shirley (husband Scottie) McDonald. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who shared in her joyful spirit.
No words can express how grateful and blessed we are to our family and friends during this time. Her legacy will carry on forever.
