Violet V. Jones, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 90 in Sellersburg, Indiana. Born on February 5, 1935, in Charlestown, Indiana, she lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and enriched by her cherished experiences.
Violet was the loving wife of Kenneth Jones for over 70 years, a partnership that stood as a testament to enduring love and commitment. Together, they formed a family that expanded with joy and pride. Her daughter, Penny Dewes and her husband Russ, and her grandchildren, Christina Miller and her husband Thomas and David Welsh, will forever hold dear the memories of her unwavering support and affection. Her passions included spending quality time with her family, a value she instilled in all who knew her. Violet was the only one of her siblings who traveled outside of the United States. While her husband Kenneth was in the service, they ventured together to Germany, France, England, and Spain, creating lasting memories across the globe. She also enjoyed frequent trips to Dollywood and Branson, where she found delight in the variety shows that filled her heart with laughter and joy.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished family ties, and her memory will be honored and celebrated by all whose lives she touched.
