Violet Morris Snead

Violet Morris Snead of South Boston passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the age of 89. Born in Halifax County on January 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Morris and the late Ava Long Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hardy Snead.
Violet was a member of Fork Baptist Church and loved her church family and enjoyed attending until she declined in health. She had a special love for children and loved babysitting, especially her grandson and many more children. She was a wonderful cook and baker, sharing her special treats with others. Violet was a retiree from Burlington Industries after working there for over 25 years.
She is survived by her son, Robert Lewis Davis (Robin); step-son, Michael Hardy Snead; grandchildren, James Robert Davis (Patsy) and Heather Davis Daniel (Kenny); great grandchildren, Jacob Allen Davis (Rebecca), Zachary James Davis, Kendal Grace Daniel and Trace Daniel; great great grandchild, Kevin Wayne Davis; brother, Burnett Morris (Linda); special friends & caretakers, Norma & Larry Newbill; sister-in-law, Sheryl Brown Morris; special nieces & nephews & her church family.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ira Thomas Morris and Samuel Owen Morris.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Fork Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 PM - 2 PM at Fork Baptist Church.
