Violet L. Staples went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was born in Shawneetown, IL, and was a member of Wayman Chapel AME Church. She retired in 1987 from the Veterans Hospital in North Chicago, IL, after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her loving children Phyllis Staples, William (Debra) Staples lll, Yvonne (Charles) Triplett, Michael (James Williamson) Staples, Ronald Staples, Barbara (Michael) Wallace, James (Angela) Staples, Sharon Carroll, Terry (Nilsa) Staples, and Jonathan (Adrienne) Staples; her brother David (Loretta) Ellis, sister-in-law Carol, sister-in-law Margaret and sister-in-law Pauline; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Violet was preceded in passing by her beloved husband William Robert Staples ll, her parents, her grandson Andre Triplett and her dear siblings Hobart, Eugene, Ben, and James. 

On Friday, October 11, 2024, the funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. for family and friends at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. However, at the family’s request, the visitation and entombment will be private for family members only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Violet’s name can be made to the family, care of Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL 60031.
