Virgil H. Diveley, 70, of Cahokia, Illinois, born June 8, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 20, 2025 at Autumn Meadows in Cahokia, Illinois.

Virgil was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, where he was very involved in the prayer groups. He was an avid reader. He was a generous man and would help anyone that he could. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. and Margaret Ann, nee Decker, Diveley, Sr. and a brother, Leonard J. Diveley, Jr.

Surviving are his siblings, Michael Diveley of Cahokia, IL, Karen (Stephen) Reese of St. Louis, MO, John (Toni) Diveley, Sr. of Cahokia, IL, Gary (Mary) Diveley of Cahokia, IL, Marsha (Shawn) Dunn of Troy, IL, and Brian (Michelle) Diveley, Sr. of Mascoutah, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was also a dear cousin and friend.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Illinois.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, Illinois. A Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 11:oo a.m. with Father Andrew Knopik officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Family St. Joseph Cemetery, Dupo, Illinois. Braun Family Funeral Home in Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Mr. Diveley.
