Virgil Lohman Donn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virgil Lohman Donn, who left us on March 5, 2025, at the age of 83. Virgil was a beloved member of our community, cherished by family and friends alike.
Born on January 22, 1942, in Bay County, Panama City, FL, Virgil was a native of Florida and was the oldest of two children born to the late Lohman H. Donn and Christine Hughes, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication.
Virgil was a Firefighter for the United States Air Force for 8 years, and was a retired truck driver for Lowe's with 15 years of service, he was also a very proud member of the West Milton Church of Christ of Pace, FL.
Virgil was known for his love for Christ and thoroughly enjoyed teaching just about everyone he came in contact with about the Bible no matter where he was. He was talented in drawing and made some pretty awesome wood carvings, from Helicopters, Hawks and even Ducks.
Virgil is survived by two daughters, Robin Michelle (Robert) Vickery, of Debary, FL., Virginia Lorraine Abler of Winter Park, FL.; one granddaughter and one grandson, Heather Nicole (Mike) Tate, of Elizabeth City, NC, James "Jimmy" (Shelby) Abler of Claxton, Ga.; five great grandchildren, Aubrey, Case and Emerie of Claxton, Ga., Emma and Hailey Tate of Elizabeth City, NC., and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank Minister Mike and Brenda Mefford, Barbara Whiddon, Woodie Shaw, Leigh, Becky and Courtney Duncan for the love and care they gave to Virgil, (even when he was hard headed at times, you were still there for him), and to all his friends and family in Christ at the West Milton Church of Christ, we thank you.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 5, 2025, at the West Milton Church of Christ at 5300 Hwy 90, Pace, FL 32571, at 11:00am, with Minister Mike Mefford of Pace, FL officiating, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Virgil's remarkable life. Virgil's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.
May Virgil Lohman Donn rest in eternal peace with Jesus Christ.
