Virgil was born in Columbus, OH to the late Inez Burgess on June 13, 1958.
He grew up in Columbus, where he learned how to work on vehicles. Virgil was so inspired by this that he started his own auto and hauling company.
Virgil loved his family and his friends. Whether they were playing cards, going fishing, working on a car, or just talking crap, spending time with them was the most important thing to him.
He is preceded in death by his mother Inez Burgess, grandma Suzie, sister Peaches, and brothers Steve and Jeffrey.
Virgil leaves to cherish his memory his children, Marquisa M., Latosha B., Vontisha C., and Virgil B.; 23 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; father, Steve Hammonds; siblings, Jimmie, Lili, Anthony, Randy, Robbie, Bruce, and Melanie Hammonds; and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.
Visitation 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Cook & Son-Pallay Funeral Home, 1631 Parsons Ave., concluding with a Sharing of Memories.
