Virgil Glenn Nugent 63, born on August 07, 1960 to the Union of Johnny Marvin Nugent and Corena Jenkins Nugent. Glenn passed from this life April  15,  2024 at his home after an extended illness.Glenn served his community anyway that he could and in his lifetime he was a pillar of this parish, he spent 39 years as a volunteer fire chief to Columbia Heights and Caldwell parish as well as a Caldwell Deputy. Glenn took pride in himself, his work, his family, and himself in everything he would do. Glenn owed his own trucking company  ( G and N Trucking) and G and R Transports. Glenn would help anyone in need of help. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne Nugent. Those left to cherish his memory are Rita Yvonne (Rerun) Nugent,6 loving children Angel Finnstrom, Joshua Baum, Kyle Nugent, David Hurst, Joel Baum and Michael Hurst. two sisters: Brenda Winberry, Pea Ridge, LA and Barbara Dison (Eddie) of Calhoun; 7 grandchildren Jackson Finnstrom, Kaylin Finnstrom, Brayden (Nugget)Finnstrom, and newest Landon Finnstrom, Devin Baum, Lane Baum, Aiden Sides.
Funeral service with Firefighter Honors will be held 2:00 PM Friday April 19, 2024 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Duke officiating.Bro. Johnny Ogden and Bro. Mark Treadway will deliver the eulogy and remarks. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery west of Columbia. The Nugent Family will receive visitors on Thursday April 18, 2024 at the funeral home in Columbia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Harold Allen, Wes Anders, Kevin Carr, Joshua Baum and Jason Morris

In lieu of flowers the family ask that any planned memorial's be made to Riser & Son Funeral Home, to help defray funeral expenses.
