Virgil Weare Obituary
July 31, 1931 - August 31, 2024
Virgil Theophilus Weare was born at home on July 31, 1931, in DeValls Bluff, AR and passed away at home in Santa Rosa, CA on August 31, 2024, at the age of 93.
Virgil is survived by his wife Mary Anne Weare, and children Gary Keith Conner, Linda Ann Conner, Virgil Timothy Weare and Kevin Ray Weare, all of Sonoma County, as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graduate of Harding College, Virgil later began his 32-year Junior High School Math and Science teaching career in Garden Grove, where he taught for five years. Later he moved to Santa Rosa and taught at Cook, Santa Rosa and Slater Junior High Schools for 27 years.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, between the hours of 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Sonoma Avenue Church of Christ, 2200 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. Light lunch to follow. Graveside will take place at 2:00 pm at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the World English Institute, 1525 NW Division Street, Gresham, OR 97030.

Mary Anne, my heart and my prayers are with you and your family. I'm sure that you know that Virgil was much beloved by all the Pownall family. I'm grateful that he always made sure to keep in touch, and to keep our long friendship alive. You have both been a blessing to me, and to so many others.
