Virgilio Cesar Bañez Sierras, known to friends and family as "Tiny," was born on August 21, 1974, in Tacloban City, Philippines. He passed away on September 5, 2025, in his home in Sacramento, California surrounded by his family.
Tiny was born and raised in Tacloban City in the Philippines prior to moving to the US in his teens. He returned to his beloved hometown to earn a degree in Physical Therapy from RTR Medical Foundation College.
He came to California and had various jobs in healthcare, most recently as a Community Health Advocate for Hill Physicians in Sacramento where he worked for 7 years.
His children were his pride and joy, and shared with them his love for the outdoors. Many times were spent with his family at the beach which he considered his happy place. He enjoyed good food with great company, also played basketball and was an avid sports fan.
Tiny will be forever missed by those who knew him. His smile will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and will be remembered as someone who lived life to the utmost, and always with the biggest smile on his face.
