Virginia graduated from New Augusta High School, where she played basketball. However, her true passion in life was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, dedicating herself to being involved in every aspect of their lives as her boys grew up.
Virginia's legacy as an outstanding cook remains etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, laughter, and love, where she shared her passion for cooking with her loved ones. Her fried chicken, along with her spaghetti and meatballs were family favorites and her sons declare that her dressing was the best around. These, along with her pies, and chocolate cakes were not just dishes but manifestations of her affection and care for her family.
One of Virginia's proudest accomplishments was her beautifully manicured yard. She took great pride in maintaining its impeccable appearance, spending hours mowing, edging, and tending to her flowers of every variety. Her green thumb and attention to detail did not go unnoticed by those around her. Mrs. Bridges was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church.
